Handrails and Balustrades can be complicated in regards to what you can and can't do, below we have answered some frequently asked questions to help.
What is the height my handrail can be?
Answer- Between 900-1000mm above toe of step to the top of rail.
Is there a difference between residential and commercial handrails?
Answer- Yes, in most cases for residential you are required to have one handrail on a chosen side from bottom toe to top toe. Commercial in most cases they are classed as ''accessible'' which stipulates continuous handrails both sides with a 300mm horizontal extension to the rail at the start and end of all rails.
How high does my residential balustrade need to be?
Answer- minimum 1000mm above finished floor level, Commercial is slightly more complicated with regards to use so it best to get in touch with us early.
